Even though many people think of some other countries when cheese is mentioned, Spain is one of the most famous cheese producers in the world. Majorero is one of the many Spanish cheeses you’re bound to enjoy from the first to the last bite. It is made in Canary Islands, which already gives a tone of exotic. Some say this is Spain’s best goat cheese, and judging by the taste they’re not far from right. It’s has a lemony tone, and is excellent when served with oloroso cherry of white verdejo.

Manchego cheese is one of the most famous Spanish types of cheese, and can really be served in a million ways. If you’ve tried it, then you know that it tastes perfectly even if you eat it by itself, but if you have guests, serving only cheese may seem weird. Making manchego hot dogs will bring a nice mixture of Spain and the States to your place. Take a bun, put a sausage or a hot dog in it, add some rocket, and while the hot dog is hot, add some grated manchego.

People all over the world love pizza and deeply cherish and enjoy the cult. Some prefer making their own pizza dough, some prefer buying the dough which is ready made. So, take the pizza dough ( I always recommend you make it yourself), and cover it with tomato passata (you can also make instead of buying it), add sliced fresh tomatoes on it, add some herbs and sliced manchego on top, and you’ll have a lovely Spanish pizza.

There are three types of manchego, the fresh one (fresco), the medium one (curado), and the aged one, (viego). Manchego curado is like an encyclopedia of possible ways to serve it. Some are complicated, some aren’t, and one of the simple ones follows: Take some Granny Smith apples, wash them, peel them and slice them. Then take some manchego curado, chives, olive oil, smoked almonds and some apple cider vinegar, and mix it all up. You’ll have a lovely salad. Serve with red wine.

Valdeon is a Spanish type of cheese made of cow’s milk, and is one of the most appreciated blue cheeses of Spain. Some say it’s not piquant enough, but others disagree. What ever your tastes cheese wise may be, you should try it, because it’s delicious. Malden is wrapped in leaves, which distinguishes it from cabrales (many people confuse the two), as it is wrapped in foil. With strong flavor and creamy texture it may surprise fans of young, mild cheeses.

If you want to make a perfect cheese platter, you need to know quite a lot about cheeses. Today literature about anything and everything is available on line, but if you want to serve manchego to your guests, of for yourself, you need to know to pair it with the right wine. Wines which are best served with manchego are wines with a body such as Rioja Tempranillo, which will go excellent with strong manchego. Jerez cherry is also a great companion, as is Manzanilla, for people who like tastes which aren’t ordinary.

When in this stage, Manchego Cheese is perfect for melting and as addition to other dishes.
